The Dragon King Greataxe is a greataxe in Dark Souls.
In-Game Description
- This axe, one of the rare dragon weapons, is formed by the tail of the Gaping Dragon, a distant, deformed descendant of the everlasting dragons.
- The axe is imbued with a mystical power, to be released when held with both hands.

The Dragon King Greataxe is obtained from cutting off the tail of the Gaping Dragon, located in the lowest section of the Depths.
Characteristics[]
The Dragon King Greataxe boasts impressive base damage but does not scale with any stat, has an excessively high strength requirement, and is quite heavy. This weapon will be out damaged easily but much lighter weapons that have good Strength scaling. Though players could perform one-shots with this weapon when built around appropriately, it boils down to a gimmick.
When held with both hands, the Dragon King Greataxe can execute a special attack by using the strong-attack. The player slams the axe in the ground, creating a shockwave all around them. This special attack burns 50 durability with each use and hits twice. Unusual for a unique weapon, the Dragon King Greataxe can be augmented and buffing this weapon adds damage to the AOE of the special 2H strong attack. It grants 20 points of fire and magic resistance when wielded.
