Deep Soul (深みのソウル) is a soul-transposed sorcery in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Sorcery of Archdeacon Royce and his deacons, said to have been imparted to them by McDonnell of the Boreal Valley.
- Fires dark soul dregs.
- Souls which swell from the deep pursue their target, drawn towards life.
Availability[]
Obtained by transposing the Soul of the Deacons of the Deep with Ludleth of Courland. No souls are required to complete the transposition.
Effect[]
Quickly conjures soul dregs, which slowly home in on the target, dealing 1.0 times the Spell Buff of the catalyst as Dark damage upon impact. Costs very little FP and stamina, and is subject to modification by Faith and Dark bonus on certain specialized catalysts.
Use[]
Single player[]
Deep Soul is useful for giving Intelligence builds a source of Dark damage rather than Magic damage, which can be useful against enemies resistant to the latter but not the former.
Online gameplay[]
The damage that Deep Soul deals is not significant, but the spell is extremely cheap and casts extremely quickly, meaning that it does not require equipping a Sage Ring in order to be useful. As such, it is a very useful tool for harassing opponents, particularly due to its slow and homing nature which is adept at applying pressure.
Multiple Deep Souls can be conjured quickly, allowing for a stream of projectiles homing in on a target before the first one finds its mark.
