Dark Spirit (Dark Souls III)

Dark Spirits are enemies in Dark Souls III. They are characters that will invade and attempt to kill the player in certain locations throughout the game.

In order to be invaded by Dark Spirits, the player must be a Host of Embers. Additionally, invasion by other players only takes place when the game is in online mode.

Invasions by NPC Dark Spirits can also occur on offline mode. As well, the NPC Dark Spirits in The Ringed City can invade players even if they are not a Host of Embers, and all DLC Dark Spirits are capable of invading regardless of the status of the area boss.
