Worn by the Darkwraiths that reside in lower New Londo Ruins.
Characteristics[]
The Dark Set offers a unique blend of good protection, decent Poise and low weight; it is one of the lighter medium sets. What sets it apart is that, though its defense is wholly unspectacular compared to some of the other high-level medium sets, it stands above many of them in terms of defense for each unit of weight. As such, it is especially valuable for players who want good poise and defense, but want to minimize the weight involved with such a choice.
Two of its drawbacks are that, to acquire it, the player must reach level +2 in the Darkwraith covenant, which can be both difficult and time-consuming, and the player must acquire Twinkling Titanite to upgrade it. Later in the game, however, the second issue can be nullified by being able to purchase the Twinkling Titanite from the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo for 8,000 souls per piece and by unlocking good Twinkling Titanite farming locations, such as Ash Lake or the Crystal Cave's boss area.
