The Crystal Sage's Rapier is a soul-transposed thrusting sword in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Thrusting sword with tiny crystals scattered across its blade, used by the Crystal Sages for self-defense.
- The crystals boost the magic damage inflicted by the sword, and the item discovery of its wielder, fruits of the lifetime of research conducted by the sages.

From stance, use normal attack to back step and execute a surprise attack, or strong attack for consecutive thrusting.

Characteristics[]
The Crystal Sage's Rapier is an unorthodox thrusting sword that has moderate Dexterity requirements but scales almost entirely with Intelligence, making it ideal for mage builds. It is the longest thrusting sword in the game, providing its wielder with good reach. However, because it deals little physical damage, it is largely incapable of taking advantage of the Thrust damage that is the signature of thrusting swords, and thus cannot greatly benefit from counter-hits or from equipping a Leo Ring.
One quirk of the Crystal Sage's Rapier is that equipping it will increase the wielder's Item Discovery by 50 points. Thus it sees common use as a farming aid, improving the odds of getting desired loot through enemy drops.
