Crossbows are a type of weapon in Dark Souls III.

Crossbows are a ranged weapon that have rather low Strength and Dexterity requirements and offer no scaling, making them ideal for builds that do not invest heavily into physical stats. Unlike bows and greatbows, crossbows can be held and fired in one hand, but require the player to reload between shots as indicated by an arrow head in the top portion of the weapon icon. This makes them ideal ranged weapons for engaging foes within lock-on range.

Crossbows can be equipped in either the main hand or off hand. When two-handed, all crossbows have a "zoom" feature, activated by pressing the off-hand weak attack button (or block), that allows the player to manually aim their shots from a first-person point of view. It should be noted that different types of Bolts have varying ranges that add to a specific crossbow's range. This affects the accuracy of the projectile resulting in some shots seeming inaccurate (this does not affect locked-on shots). Range can also be increased by equipping the Hawk Ring.
