"If thou shalt swear by the covenant, to become
A shadow of Father Gwyn and Sister Gwynevere,
A blade that shall hunt the foes of our Lords;
Then I place thee under the aegis, and the power, of the Darkmoon."
— Company Captain Yorshka

Company Captain Yorshka is a character in Dark Souls III.

She is voiced by Martha Mackintosh.

LocationEdit

Met in Anor Londo, dwelling alone at the top of the Prison Tower that rises high above the Church of Yorshka. It can be accessed from the rotating elevator located after the Darkmoon Tomb in Anor Londo. The tower can be reached regardless of the position of the elevator.

The tower will be visible in the distance. Make a step of faith onto open air to reveal an invisible bridge that leads to it.

DescriptionEdit

Captain Yorshka is the leader of the Darkmoon Blades and inducts the player into their ranks if they have learned the Darkmoon Loyalty gesture.

She is a tall and skinny woman, with pale skin and blue eyes. She has dark green hair and scale-like markings around her eyes. She wears a veil over her hair and wears a white dress. She is barefoot and appears to have a tail not unlike that of a dragon.

Yorshka talks in an older form of English, and lives in a tower secluded from the rest of Anor Londo. Because of her seclusion, she has little knowledge of the outside world.

LoreEdit

Yorshka is first met at the top of remote tower near Anor Londo, which is the highest steeple of the Church of Yorshka. She was imprisoned here by Pontiff Sulyvahn, after he proclaimed himself Pontiff and took control of Irithyll.[1]

Yorshka states that she is the daughter of Gwyn, Lord of Cinder and younger sister of Dark Sun Gwyndolin. When Gwyndolin became ill, leadership of the Darkmoon Blades passed to Yorshka.[1] Gwyndolin gave Yorshka her name, along with her chime.[2]

Yorshka's last memory concerning her brother is him being struck by illness, after which she was imprisoned by the Pontiff's knights. Yorshka is unaware of his gruesome fate.[1] Pontiff imprisoned Gwyndolin in Anor Londo's old cathedral, so he could be fed to the devourer[3]

TriviaEdit

  • Yorshka's outfit, described as a Saint's set, is available for the player to wear in removed content. According to the item description, Yorshka was originally imprisoned in a dungeon (presumably Irithyll Dungeon and her outfit, originally pure white, was stained ash grey from years of incarceration.
  • Another article of removed content, Gwyndolin's Finger, could be presumably obtained upon defeating Aldrich. It could be given to Yorshka for additional dialogue and a reward, presumably Darkmoon Ring based on the dialogue. According to its item description, she is a crossbreed.[4]
