The Charred Loyce Set is a heavy armor set in Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory King.

Dropped by Charred Loyce Knights in The Old Chaos.

Characteristics

This armor set is stat-wise nearly identical to its cleaner version, the Loyce Set. However, it is slight heavier, provides very minute increases in certain physical defenses, has nearly half its durability, and possesses a better fire resistance, yet lower magic resistance.

This armor set also draws a comparison with the Ivory King Set, as it is essentially an overall upgrade to the Charred Loyce Set, albeit somewhat heavier.

Notes

• Just like the Loyce Set, and the Ivory King Set, this armor set will heal female wearers upon defeating an enemy, similar to the Ring of the Evil Eye, and will stack its effect with it. Male characters do not receive this benefit.
  • There is a common misconception that the heal will only activate when killing an enemy of the opposite sex. This is not true, as almost all enemies have no gender coded for them.
• For some reason however, the healing effect is nullified if the player is using a Wicked Eye Greatshield, as such, players wanting to use the full benefits of these armor sets are discouraged of using it.
• Interestingly, the Butcher's Knife, which has the same effect of the aforementioned Greatshield, will still work.
