- This weapon's thick, heavy blade is crafted to cause bleeding, and requires ample strength and dexterity to wield effectively, suggesting that the swordsmen of Carthus were amongst the mightiest.
- Skill: Spin Slash
Slice into foes with a large spinning motion, and continue spinning to transition into strong attack.
Availability[]
Dropped by Skeleton Swordsmen in the Catacombs of Carthus.
Characteristics[]
The Carthus Curved Sword is the largest and heaviest single curved sword in its class. Boasting a long reach and the "heavy curved sword" moveset of the Falchion, it is imbued with innate Bleed buildup and can inflict impressive amounts of damage while also pressuring foes with the threat of a sudden burst of damage through a bleed proc. However, it does come with a major drawback of high stamina consumption, even among heavy curved swords, meaning that high investments in Endurance may be required to wield this weapon properly.
Overall, its damage output is quite moderate at standard investments in Strength and Dexterity, though it is outclassed by both the Falchion and Follower Sabre. However, at very high levels of Dexterity and infusion with a Sharp Gem, it fails to scale as well as its brethren, eventually being outclassed by the Scimitar.
