Blowdart Snipers are non-respawning enemies in Dark Souls.
Location[]
They are encountered in Blighttown, scattered throughout the upper parts.
Description[]
As their name would suggest, Blowdart Snipers have very long range and can spot the player from a long distance. In addition, they're hard to detect and make little noise.
Their darts inflict an extremely high amount of Toxic buildup. Their toxin is the most dangerous in the game, as although it is the briefest one in duration it also deals the most amount of damage per second.
Strategy[]
- A minimum of 81 poison resistance is required to avoid becoming toxic in one shot from a blowdart without blocking.
- Because they appear in dark, secluded areas, can detect the player from long distances, and start shooting continuously with high precision once they've detected the player, the snipers may intoxicate a player before they even know where the shots are coming from. Therefore, it is viable to employ some form of stealth such as the Ring of Fog to greatly reduce the distance at which a sniper becomes hostile.
- A rather effective, though unsavory, way of countering them is to intoxicate yourself using a few Dung Pies dropped from the Infested Barbarians throughout upper Blighttown. The effect is unstackable and only deals 7 HP/sec in damage as opposed to 14 HP/sec from the snipers.
- Other than the darts, they have no other way of attacking the player other than a weak shove at close range. Assuming that there isn't more than one sniper attacking at once, running past them can work if the player is fast enough.
Notes[]
- Killing Blowdart Snipers automatically grants players their dropped items. This includes if they were to fall to their deaths.
- Even though they don't deal any damage, the darts can stagger players with little-to-no poise.

- The sounds they make upon death are the same sounds made by the Dreglings in Demon's Souls.
