The Blade of the Darkmoon is a covenant in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

When a member of the Way of Blue faces a dark spirit, the Blades of the Darkmoon, by an ancient accord, help to root out the invader.

Requirements[edit | edit source]

The player must have obtained the "Darkmoon Loyalty" gesture from Sirris of the Sunless Realms. Should the player anger or kill Sirris before doing this, it will be impossible to obtain the gesture.

How to join[edit | edit source]

Obtained from Company Captain Yorshka upon talking to her and performing the "Darkmoon Loyalty" gesture at the Prison Tower in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley.

The tower can be reached via the rotating staircase that connects Irithyll to Anor Londo. An invisible pathway, that leads to the tower, can be accessed from the lower level of the staircase.

Benefits[edit | edit source]

Blade of the Darkmoon functions identically to Blue Sentinels, where equipping the covenant item will place the player in a queue to be summoned into the world of a player who is affiliated with the Way of Blue should they be invaded by a red or purple dark spirit. In order to achieve victory, the player must defend the Way of Blue Adherent from the invading dark spirit, either by defeating the dark spirit or safely escorting the host into the boss fog of the area. Upon completion of their mission, the blue spirit will be rewarded with a Proof of a Concord Kept.

Blue spirits will remain in the host's world so long as offending dark spirits are present (territory defenders like Watchdogs of Farron and Aldrich Faithful are not counted). Therefore, it is possible to obtain multiple Proofs in a single session.

Proofs may be offered to Yorshka to deepen allegiance to the covenant.
