The Black Separation Crystal is an online play item in Dark Souls.
In-Game Description
- This black crystal, long a symbol of farewell, is granted to banished Undead. The crystal sends phantoms back to their homes, or sends you back to yours.
- Beware of fickle use of the item if you intend to nurture relations.

Granted to the player at the beginning of the game.
General information[]
Hosts can use the Black Separation Crystal to banish friendly phantoms. Phantoms, in turn, can use the Black Separation Crystal to return to their worlds.
Hosts cannot use the Black Separation Crystal to force hostile phantoms to return home. However, red and blue phantoms can still use the Black Separation Crystal to leave the host's world.
