Black Fire Orb is a pyromancy in Dark Souls III.
In-Game Description
- Pyromancy discovered by grave wardens after High Lord Wolnir fell to the Abyss.
- Hurls a black fireball.
- The black flame inflicts dark damage, striking targets with weighty force.

Sold by Karla for 10,000 souls once she has been given the Grave Warden Pyromancy Tome.
Effect[]
Hurls a black fireball at the target, inflicting 2.4 times the Spell Buff of the catalyst as Dark damage. Enemies caught in the explosion at the impact point rather than being hit by the fireball itself will take only 2.2 times the Spell Buff of the catalyst as Dark damage.

Single player[]
As with the other Dark Pyromancies, Black Fire Orb is useful for bringing an additional damage type to the table against enemies that are resistant to Fire damage. While it is not as efficient as Fire Orb in terms of FP cost-to-damage ratio, it is still a very useful tool to have on hand.
Online gameplay[]
While it is not nearly as damaging as Great Chaos Fire Orb or Chaos Bed Vestiges in terms of raw damage, Black Fire Orb is still quite useful in that it only requires a single Attunement slot and does not cost an exorbitant amount of FP to cast. As well, it is the only orb-type projectile available that can be augmented by wearing the Blindfold Mask, giving it an edge over most other Pyromancies. Ironically, this spell is also adept at dealing with opponents who are wearing the Blindfold Mask, as they will incur additional damage from Dark sources.
