The Berserker Blade is a katana in Dark Souls II.

In-Game Description

The katana of a berserker, by its name.

The thick, shiny black blade cuts exquisitely. Its origins are unknown, but at some point the blade became known by this name.

Availability

The Berserker Blade can be found in Belfry Sol. It is dropped by the Mad Warrior that uncommonly spawns (resting at a bonfire a few times should cause it to respawn). However, acquiring the Berserker Blade also requires that the player be a member of the Bell Keepers covenant, as the phantom will not spawn unless the player is in the covenant. Note that the Mad Warrior will spawn less frequently the more he is killed.

Alternatively, it can be dropped by the Prowlers found in Brume Tower.

Characteristics

The Bersker Blade is one of the highest damage katanas available, and it features a standard moveset revolving around vertical slashes and delayed strong attacks. Its main drawbacks compared to other katanas are its short length, and the time-consuming way it is obtained.

Being a rare drop from the Mad Warrior and Prowlers; the process of even getting this weapon can be arduous, but its excellent scaling in dexterity allows it to compete with the Chaos Blade. Compared to the Chaos Blade, it also comes with the advantages of not draining the wielder's health points and being more easily accessible, though likely slower to obtain, due to the nature of random drops.

Moveset

One-handed Weak Attack	Quick, alternating diagonal slashes from right to left.
One-handed Strong Attack	Stabbing motion with high starting lag, followed by a 180° horizontal slash
Two-handed Weak Attack	Alternating diagonal slashes.
Two-handed Strong Attack	Strong vertical slash with high starting lag, followed by a rush horizontal slash
Jump Attack	Jumping vertical strike.
Running Attack	A very fast, lunging thrust with short range and decent damage, but small hitbox.
Rolling Attack	180 degree horizontal slash.
Power Stance Weak Attack	Parallel slash from left to right, followed by a diagonal slash from right to left.
Power Stance Strong Attack	Vertical slash attacks starting from opposite directions.
Guard break	Standard guard break.
Off-handed Weak Attack	Quick, alternating diagonal slashes from left to right.
Off-handed Strong Attack	Strong thrusting attack with small range and decent damage, but a small hitbox.
