The Bandit's Knife is a dagger in Dark Souls III.

In-Game Description

A wide single-edged shortsword.

Primarily a slicing weapon, but its blade is crafted to cause bleeding, making it a favorite of lowly thieves and bandits.

Skill: Quickstep
Instantly step behind or around the side of foes. Especially effective when locked on to target.

Availability

• Starting weapon of the Thief class.
• Sold by Greirat of the Undead Settlement for 1,500 souls.
  • Sold by the Shrine Handmaid once she has been given Greirat's Ashes.
• Dropped by Greirat only if the player did not buy any of these knives from him.

Characteristics

The Bandit's Knife sacrifices some of the daggers' high crit damage to provide bleed build-up. This makes it an excellent choice to buff with Carthus Rouge or to infuse with a Blood Gem. As with its previous incarnations, the rapid cuts can quickly bleed opponents out with little risk to the wielder. This is further augmented by the weapon's skill, Quickstep, which allows the wielder to easily go in and out of hitting range, or outright dodge attacks that can be difficult to roll through, to build up status against opponents that are too aggressive to be comboed normally.

One-handed Strong Attack	Horizontal slash from right shoulder to the left at waist height, then another horizontal slash from left to right, all at chest level.
Two-handed Weak Attack	Quick foward thrust followed up with a quick diagonal swipes from left to right.
Two-handed Strong Attack	Downwards swing, swing from left to right and so on.
Jump Attack	Jumps and thrusts weapon into the ground.
Two-handed Jump Attack	Same as one-handed jump attack.
Running Attack	Single swing from left to right.
Two-handed Running Attack	Same as one-handed jump attack.
Rolling Attack	Forward thrust.
Two-handed Rolling Attack	Same as one-handed roll attack.
Kick	Kick.
Off-handed Weak Attack	Block.
Off-handed Strong Attack	Same as one-handed weak attack.
