Stepping Down (And some happy stuff)

Hey everyone.

So, I'm sure by the title you can guess why I'm making this post. As of right now, my life is too hectic to have any time for Wikia unfortunately. It's with a lot of thought that I am stepping down from any position I currently hold on the Dark Souls Wikia. I'm sorry to be doing this, and I'll deeply miss all of you, but this is my goodbye.

I'm not just throwing you guys under the bus, though. I'm also here to do a couple other things. With me leaving, you'll have no active bureaucrats. That's why I'm here to do two things: Nominate a new Bureaucrat and bring up a vote on a new Admin.

I'm sure you can guess who the Bureaucrat will be: Mats. He's been a far more dedicated Admin than I have as of late. He's a great editor who will do great things for this Wiki when the right time rolls around. Let's see if I remember how this poll thing works...

Now, we've also had an application created for a new Admin. LaVey wishes to become one. I've not had much personal interaction with LaVey, but he is a good editor. One should account for his current ban from chat, the lifting of which can be discussed among the powers-that-be at a later time. I will personally not express support or opposition for LaVey, as I do not know enough to make such an expression.

As always, you need to leave your reasons for why you vote the way you do. If either of these people ultimately turn down the nomination presented here, obviously they will not be promoted regardless of the vote. It's about time you resigned. Now I can finally kick you from the chat at my own leisure :D

On a serious note it's unfortunate that you have to step down, but you've done far more than your fair share for this Wiki and I don't think anyone could expect more from you.

Voted in support of Mats because he's the best candidate for the job. He makes quality edits and from what I've seen interacts very well with the community.

I voted in opposition of LaVey's nomination. While LaVey may edit frequently and their contributions are of good quality, this does not excuse the fact that the user was banned from the chat for posting a grotesque video depicting a militaristic crucifixtion of another human being. Quite simply this is not someone who should be in a position of authority and given their permanent ban from the chat there would be a conflict of interests if this person was appointed to an Administrator position.

Knowing that mats is easily contactable, always here for the chat, i have no reason to turn down his promotion of bureaucrate, as for LaVey, i know that he edits fairly often, but i almost never spoke to the person, so i am not sure how to vote, It was a pleasure to be your acquaintance. Hope you have a good time with your life buddy.

Peace cosmic. I've only been here for a short while, but I know you done good. I voted in support for mats, as he is practically the best choice, for obvious reasons. I voted in opposition for LaVey. He does quite a bit of editing, but that video, *shivers*, and his ban from the chat, proves he should not be an admin

I voted in support for Mats as he is still active here on the wiki both in chat and in editing the articles, and there is nobody more qualfied for the position. I feel he'd do a fine job as bureaucrat, and I have no reason to think otherwise. As for LaVey, I voted neutral as I simply do not know him well enough to side either way.

Dan, while I am saddened that you're stepping down, I still wish the best to you. And hope that maybe we'll see you in chat again some time. Best of luck to you, and have a good life.

I don't know about this "Matsczon" guy. Sounds like he'd burn this place down the first chance he gets. /s

As for LaVey, I personally have no qualms with raising the chat ban, although an absolute zero-tolerance policy would definitely be in order, but I do see the potential controversy regarding it. As such, I'm staying indifferent on this choice.

Voted yes for Mats, for he is more than qualified for the position in my opinion. He is active everywhere on the wiki, and one can always count on him.

As for LaVey, I'll be voting neutral as well. I simply do not know enough about him, his contributions or his offenses to give a proper opinion.

And Dan, it is a shame you will be resigning, but it is an understandable decision. I wish you the best of luck.

Hello everyone.

It seems that the main reason why most people is being neutral toward me is simply because you don't know me very well. Then again, if someone sends me a message, I think you'll be surprised of how I'm always ready to be of some help when needed.

As for the chat ban, yes, I take full responsibility for the video I put that day. It was my fault for not reading the rules first, but I just want you to know that I'm not like that, but on the contrary; I'm a very responsible person who likes to keep things in order always. In fact, believe it or not, I haven't had the guts of watching the video myself (really). Also, I very rarely enter chat rooms and I'm far more interested in the structural aspects of a wiki.

I sincerely want to apologize to those people I offended with that video. If you would only give me the opportunity to prove myself, I'm sure you'll find me apt to work in here. I don't know if you read my petition on Cosmic's wall, but I told him that I'm also a bureaucrat at the Castlevania an Jem wikis. Please, follow the links to see all the hard work I've put in those places. Also, please review my contributions page here. I've been working on articles here for 11 months now, without failing even a single day.

Also, if you want to get to know me, I'd be happy to receive your messages in my wall.

Please consider in changing your vote so I can start working more and better around here, I won't disappoint you.

I am voting yes for LaVey. Even though I do not know about the chat ban he is good at editing and everyone needs a second chance. And I will be voting yes for Matz. He seems to be a cool and responsible guy. Keep up the good work.

Well I'd say this has been open for long enough. It's clear to me that Mats has full community support, I'll promote him ASAP. Regarding LaVey, I will leave that one up to Mats as I do not see it as my place to make this decision since I'm not nearly as active as he is. Any votes that were placed without explanations have been removed from the final poll numbers.
